Q: My fiancé and I really don’t need a bunch of gifts, (we’ve both got everything we need). Is it O.K. just to ask for money?

A: To put it bluntly, NO! There is a way around this though; tell your family and close friends your wishes. Quite often your guests will ask a family member what you need, and they can tell them for you. When you do your registry, just ask for a few things. Quite possibly, they will opt to give you a monetary gift. Accept any gift you get graciously, and don’t forget to send your thank you notes! This should be done within two weeks of receiving the gift.

Best Regards,
Andi
